This unusual leather covered jewelry presentation box once would have held a precious stickpin or brooch. Of deep blue, adorned with embossed gold trim, it opens with a push of the button. The cream-colored silk lined interior states "O. L Koock, Jeweler, Austin, Tex." Knock advertised his jewelry store, located at 513 Congress Avenue, in a 1915 booklet from the Austin Retail Merchants Association (last picture). This beautiful box is 3.5 inches long and .75 inches high. Underneath, it is marked "Germany" on a tiny paper label. This pretty presentation box is wonderful condition for its age. The latch closes tightly and the inside lining is clean and bright, although the silk covering the hinge is beginning to melt. The outer covering is in good condition, with only some scattered minor wear.
