Sterling silver purse evening bag has a lovely hand chased design of flowers and decoration all over on the front and back with an impressive monogram in a cartouche and stepped up border, circa 1880’s-1927. This ornate purse is on a chain and lined in green matte satin with three compartments. The center compartment closes with a latch that lifts up and closes tight. B Kerr Company of Newark, New Jersey is well regarded for its Art Nouveau jewelry, holloware and vanity items. They were absorbed into Gorham in 1927. The purse is in very good condition with no dings, dents or repairs. The lining is exceptional with minimal wear or stains. It opens easily with a push button latch and closes securely with a snap.
