Antique 19th Century Sevres French porcelain portrait cabinet plate features a delicately hand painted portrait of Madame de Pompadour who was a member of the French court and the official chief mistress of Louis XV from 1745 to 1751. The border is a lovely robin’s egg blue hand decorated with French gold gilt scroll work and diamond decoration. The plate has a scalloped edge with gold trim. It is marked and hand signed on the back, Mme de Pompadour, bears a green crown mark SV 45, a red Chateau Des Tuileries stamp mark, and a Sevres 1844 blue stamp mark. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The gold gilt has a bit of wear consistent with its vintage. It measures 9.50 inches diameter. This historical cabinet plate from the esteemed French porcelain maker Chateau des Tuileries with the portrait of Madame Pompadour is an exceptional find.
