This is a wonder shell cameo brooch and earring set, Ca 1890s. Brooch is marked 730 or something close to that as are the earrings. Brooch has a bale so it can also be a pendant. Motif, I am guessing is a mythological depiction, maybe of a roman get together of goddesses at a common area. Earrings depict a mother and child scene. I will be researching the motifs in the coming weeks, and will add more info as it is acquired.
Brooch and earrings have no cracks, or restorations that I can see. The back of the brooch has some white residue of some sort that I can't make out. The earrings are clip on; very nice, and not what I would expect from such an early piece. Definitely ready to wear. Measurements are for the brooch/pendant: 1.5 inches in diameter. Earrings .75 inches long. Earring clips are a spring mechanism that is tight. Brooch has a rolling pin mechanism that is in good working order.
This is truly a unique set that I acquired from a reputable colleague. Truly a wonderful, one of a kind acquisition for the right person.
