Dates to the Edwardian era, circa 1910.
Crafted in solid 14K yellow gold, and carefully acid tested.
Beautifully detailed handmade setting, which features cannonball appliques and twisted wirework. Bezel-set in a knife-edge surround with a hand-carved tiger eye (or tiger’s eye) reverse carved cameo of a Roman gladiator.
The front of the ring measures 0.66” from top to bottom, with a band that measures 0.08” at the very back. This ring weighs 3.9 grams and is currently a size 5.25.
Condition is very good, with no repairs. There is a chip to the backside of the cameo which likely occurred before or during setting and a very small nick on the front in the 8 o'clock position.
