Dates to the Art Deco era, circa 1920.
Crafted in solid 14K white gold, and hallmarked as such upon the clasp.
This lovely little shell cameo features a beautifully hand carved demure maiden. Perhaps the Goddess Flora, due to the toga dress and the flowers in her hair. Eloquently framed in an etched white gold octagonal surround.
The back of the brooch features the original early top locking clasp and pin, which work perfectly and appear to be original. The pin and hinge is even double backed in gold to add support on the fairly fine frame.
The brooch measures 1.13" from top to bottom, with a maximum width of 0.90" from side to side, and weighs 3.1 grams.
Condition is very good, with no damages or repairs.
