Dates to the late Victorian era, circa 1900.
Crafted in solid 10K yellow gold, and hallmarked as 'K10K'. Unfortunately, although I recognize the hallmark, I am unable to currently identify the maker.
Sunburst design scatter pin, featuring eight rays, each set with 4 tiny genuine split seed pearls (32 in total), and finished in the center with a larger claw set split pearl. The brooch measures 0.87" from top to bottom, and 0.85" from side to side. It weighs 2.3 grams.
The back of the brooch features the usual pin, but a very unique antique locking clasp, which I have only seen once or twice in the last few years.
Condition is very good, with no repairs. The center pearl does have a small crack in it's top layer of nacre, but is secure in it's setting.
