Dates to the late Arts & Crafts era, circa 1915.
Crafted in solid 10K yellow gold, and marked as such. Definitely a hand made piece, and absolutely one of a kind.
This wonderful little brooch features a uniquely hand-carved cameo, likely of the Roman Goddess Diana (due to the moon in her hair). Truly a stylish hand-carved piece, with artistic flourishes not typically seen in cameos of this era.
Absolutely sublime frame, which consists of a leaf, berry and vine foliage design. I can't decide which is more pleasing - the cameo or the frame!
The back has the original early roll over clasp and pin, which work perfectly.
This diminutive piece measures 0.98" by 0.80", and weighs 4.1 grams.
Condition is very good, with no damages or repairs.
