Dates to the late Edwardian era, circa 1910.
Crafted in solid 14K yellow gold, and hallmarked as such, but worn, so additionally acid tested. Bears the maker’s mark of Bippart, Griscom & Osborn of Newark, New Jersey.
Asian motif, with openwork bars framed on either end with scrollwork design. Bezel-set in the center with a 3 mm light blue OEC sapphire.
The brooch measures 2.01” from end to end, with a width of 0.19” from top to bottom. This piece weighs 3.4 grams.
The back of the brooch has the original top locking clasp and pin, which work perfectly. Condition is very good, with no damages or repairs.
