Dates to the post Edwardian, pre Art Deco era, circa 1915. Likely originally worn as a collar pin.
Crafted in solid 10K yellow gold, and hallmarked as such upon the clasp. Bears the initials G.L.P. Co, which is the mark of George L. Paine & Company of North Attleboro, MA, USA.
Pretty little open-work brooch is saw-tooth bezel set with a tiny genuine hand-carved shell cameo which measures approximately 10 mm by 8 mm.
The brooch measures 0.95" from end to end and 0.54" from top to bottom. This piece weighs 1.8 grams.
Back of the brooch has it's original top locking clasp and pin, which work perfectly.
Condition is very good, with no damages or repair
