Okay all you collectors of cows, this one is for you! "Jolly Romper" is an original acrylic painting by contemporary artist, Linda Rossin. The artist has captured the splendor of rural living surrounded by animals both domestic and wild. The cow and calf are spending a delightful afternoon in the pasture with plenty of green grass to eat. Ms. Rossin is an accomplished artist with international recognition, especially for her miniature work, of which this is a fine example. The art measures 3” x 4” and the distressed barn wood style frame is 6” x 7”. Both the frame and art are in very good condition. The art is signed in the lower right corner.
Biography: Linda Rossin has been professionally painting poignant portrayals of birds and animals for over twenty-five years. Although she may produce large-scale works, Linda's main focus for the last fifteen years has been on creating highly collectible traditional miniature art.* Acrylics are used for these little gems, but for larger pieces, or en plein air she often chooses to work with oil. Linda's approach to painting is greatly influenced by the Impressionists, and although her work appears highly detailed, Impressionistic techniques are integrated into each piece, including miniatures. Many sources are drawn upon for research, but it's the artist's personal observations and wild encounters that bring each Rossin painting to life. By age 40 Linda's successful art career in advertising gave way to her childhood affinity for painting the animal. A portal to the world of miniatures opened shortly thereafter when she experimented with working in little. Years of hard work in both genres have garnered Ms. Rossin countless awards, distinctive honors, associations, and recognition among collectors, editors, museums and peers. Ms. Rossin was inducted into the Society of Animal Artists in 2002, and her paintings have been consistently selected for annual exhibitions and national tours. Artists for Conservation has accepted Linda's work for exhibition annually; in 2009 she was a recipient of the coveted Medal of Excellence. The World Federation of Miniaturists featured Linda's work in: The 3rd Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature, The Smithsonian, Washington, DC, and The 4th Worldwide Exhibition, The Little Big Picture, Bernie Regional Art Gallery, Australia. Over the years numerous print publications have featured this dedicated artist within their pages. Her work also appears in the hardcover editions of The Best of Wildlife Art, volumes 1 and 2, North Light Books. Two recently published books include information about Linda in: Modern Masters of Miniature Art in America and Best of Worldwide Wildlife Artists. Limited edition reproduction prints are currently being sold throughout North America and overseas, while her originals can be found in private collections across the USA, abroad, and in the Permanent Collection of the Miniature Art Society of Florida. Ms. Rossin has served as both juror and judge for major national and international miniature art shows. She has exhibited extensively in many prestigious art exhibitions and events across the country. Along with her signature member status within the Society of Animal Artists (SAA) she is also a signature member of: Artists for Conservation (AFC), Miniature Artists of America (MAA), Association of Miniature Artists (AMA), Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society (MPSGS) and Cider Painters of America (CPA). Other associations include: Miniature Art Society of Florida (MASF), and Nature Art International. Gallery representation: Decoys & Wildlife Gallery, Frenchtown, NJ; Fredlund Gallery, Winter Park, FL.
