From the 1920s we bring you a trio of flappers of a different sort, specifically those of a Macaw Parrot and two Cockatoos, all striking a pose in the middle of this vintage Art Deco candy tin from Canco. Made for Gunther’s Candy Store in Chicago, Illinois the tin originally held chocolates but these days it holds only memories (and the occasional trinket or two). Measures 7 7/8 inches in diameter and is 1.25 inches tall. It shows its almost 100 year age in the form of scratches, wear and a small dent on the side and has discoloration on the underside and inside. The lid is sometimes a little challenging to open – but it does open – which some wax could rectify. The vestiges of a label can be found on the underside of the lid which is dated 1920 and Canco is embossed on the bottom. Still pretty after all these years and the paint is still vibrant. A real treasure for your chest (or cabinet or wall) you’ll LOVE it!
