With his crest raised and a gleam of mischief in his eyes this vintage Sulphur-crested Cockatoo figurine from The Franklin Mint is sure to become a favorite. Crafted in 1987 as part of the company's Tropical Birds and Flowers series by the Brazilian bird artist, Etienne Demonte, the Parrot is elegantly displayed atop a glass rod with a frosted glass base and is posed with a red Hibiscus flower. Both bird and bud are crafted of fine porcelain and are hand painted in realistic detail. The piece stands 11 inches tall, is 5.5 inches in length and is 3.5 inches in diameter at the base. The bird is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and is marked 1987, FM near his vent (please note that the putty you see affixing the bird to the rod is original and has flaked but is still sturdy). Realistically rendered and with lots of feather detail this charming 'Too is for you! Be sure to search our shop for a Blue and Gold Macaw from the same series.
