A cool cross between Art Deco and Victorian this vintage Artstyle candy tin is sure to charm with its vignette of a little girl discovering a pair of cooing birds in a tree. With its hexagon shape, brass top, and balled feet the hinged tin has lots to offer visually and the addition of black and red paint elevates it further still (as do the Lovebirds, natch). The box measures 7 1/8 inches in diameter and is 2.25 inches in height. It is in good condition for its age (1920s or 30s) with wear to the red paint in areas and light surface scratches. The lid opens and closes fine but is a touch lopsided on the right (very, very minor). I have also noted a green discoloration on the inside. It is marked Artstyle Chocolate Co., Boston, St. Louis, USA, Net Weight One Pond on the bottom. A wonderful item for your bath, dresser or vanity (think jewelry or gust soaps) or perfect as a Valentine’s Day gift or presentation box.
