If you're tired of the oh-so-common pink and white Cockatoo combos then this vintage pair of Parrots may be just for you, for these birdies are bright and I'm not talking about their intelligence! Made by the pottery company Maddux of California in the 1940s or 50s, they are hand painted in a greenish-yellow color known as chartreuse, which is loved by Deco divas everywhere (well, maybe not everywhere). They are coyly posed - one with wings held high and crest erect, while the other is at rest but ever alert. The pair are a nice size, measuring 10.5 inches tall and 10 inches wide from wing tip to wing tip and are in great shape with no chips or cracks, just a minute touch of roughness to the glaze on the ends of two feathers. Unmarked but definitely Maddux. They're cute, they're colorful, they're Cockatoos .... whatcha' waiting for?
