A vintage pair of porcelain Parrot table lamps from Germany that are certain to light up your life (if not your living room). The Parrots are hand painted in vivid hues of red, green and yellow, while the remainder of each lamp is white with gold highlights, and a child's or cherubim face peeks from the end of each base. The lamps stand a nice 14.25 inches in height and measure 6 by 5 5/8 inches at the base and are in good working order. They are without chips or cracks, just some expected wear to the gold, and also without their original shades, but what fun looking for replacements, eh? It's apparent one socket has been replaced over time as was a portion of the second one. Both are turned off and on via a switch on the socket and the plugs (circa 1940s or 50s) appear to be original. They are marked with an S within a shield and crown on the bottom, which is perhaps a derivative of Sitzendorf or Grafenthal but I couldn't find an exact match for either. Certainly old, certainly stunning and certainly rare, and certainly a pair of true treasures.
