Elegant and entertaining this pre-WWII cake set from Germany is a' flutter with colorful Bee Eaters on the serving tray while a parade of perched Parrots adorns the dishes. Made of porcelain by the Schumann and Schreider Company after 1905, the porcelain set consists of five pieces; a handled platter and four serving dishes, all somewhat scalloped and all boldly burnished with a pink edge. The tray measures 9.5 inches in diameter and is 1.25 inches tall, while each of the smaller plates are 6 5/8 inches round and .75 inches at their upturned edge. Aside from a small loss to a flower on the platter each piece is in wonderful condition with slight traces of wear to the paint and appear to have been used seldom, if ever. The tray and three of the plates are simply marked "Germany" on the back, while the remaining one has a 'Schwarzenhammer, Bavaria' logo. A superior set that's certain to make a statement to both your adventurous spirit, good taste, and love of birds. Perfect for tea parties!
