A rather large figurine of the Parrot persuasion made in 1967 by Goebel of Germany of bisque porcelain. We have this same figure hand painted in African Grey colors and Macaw colors in the past, but since this guy is all white we hesitate to name his species. Birdie Boy has wonderful feather detail and the look on his face speaks a thousand words (just like your baby, I'm sure!) He is quite large for a Goebel piece standing just over 8.25 inches tall and measuring 5 x 4 inches at his base. The best news of all is that he's in wonderful shape, with no chips, cracks or repairs just a few discolorations on his back wing and foot that are hardly noticeable in person (but look HUGE when magnified, yes?) He is marked "CV79" on the bottom along with the Goebel Bee in "V" mark and dated. M.B. (stands for "Mister Bird" his preferred title) has a nice weight, too. He's a real prize for any collector (he told me to say that) and can't wait to get settled into his new home. Yours, perhaps? (A note of interest: Goebel declared bankruptcy on July 6th, 2006. Look for their products to increase in value in the coming years....)
