This set of two cream soup bowls or bouillon cups by Haviland of Limoges, France in their Arcadia pattern will bring both elegance and whimsy to your dinner table. Made of fine porcelain and edged in gold the set features an Eastern Rosella Parrot at the bottom of the bowl and a Hummingbird (or Bee Eater), Bird of Paradise, and Butterflies without. The florals and branches give the set an almost Oriental vibe while the gold along the handles and edges maintain its sophistication. Each handled bowl measures just over 5.25 inches in diameter, 6.75 inches in width from handle to handle and is 1.75 inches tall, while the saucers are just over 7 inches in diameter and just under an inch tall at their upturned edges. All of the pieces are without chips or cracks and have very little wear to the gold. I do see a little wear to the design and one cup has a small, dark dimple on the bottom as a result of a factory flaw. All of the pieces are marked "Theodore Haviland, Limoges, France, Arcadia" on the bottom with the green underglaze mark that dates them to 1920-1936. Please note we have two sets (of two) for those that REALLY want to get the party started!
