Done in the style of Sascha Brastoff or Marc Bellaire this 1950's mid century modern pottery vase is done in a cool cylindrical shape and decorated with a crowing Rooster that's definitely flamboyant. The Chicken has touches of gold to highlight all his assets and has a shadow of brown to make him really stand out against the vase's light tan base. The vase stands 10.25 inches tall, is 3.5 inches squared and signed "Vertis" on the bottom right. It shows it age via crazing, some staining on the inside, and small glaze flakes at the upper back corners, one on the back side, and a small dot on the front above his lowest tail feather (see pics). Fun for use in the kitchen, bathroom, den or dining room and oh-so-modern yet vintage. You'll love it!
