A rare pewter rendering from 1980's Germany featuring a Blackcap Warbler among florals. The piece is affixed to a pewter base and a brass plaque naming the bird in German, Latin and English completes the tableau. Well designed and hand painted the bird measures 2.25" tall while the base is 3". Besides the plaque it is also marked "Nach Zeichnung von John Gould (1804-1881) Modellert und Gegossen Haefelin - Zinnoffizin" which translates to "'After a drawing by John Gould (1804-1881) modeled and cast by tin workshop".
