Life-sized and lovely this vintage Budgie figurine from Thuringia, Germany is both classy and classic. Made of porcelain and finished in a white, shiny glaze this creature was crafted between 1908 and 1938 by the Schwarzburg Workshops for Porcelain Art and created by their artist, Wilhelm Neuhäuser (1885-1960). It measures 6.5" long, 1 7/8" wide, 4.75" tall and although white, exhibits delicious detail. It's also in excellent condition and was obviously cabinet kept throughout the years. "Neuhauser" is pressed into the porcelain on the side while the bottom is marked with the company's fox logo and "Schwerzbuger Werk - statten* wellenknust" (hard to make out all the words, see pic) along with some numbers. A true work of art that's a beautiful bridge between Art Deco and Art Nouveau. We think you'll be quite pleased.
