Franklin Mint White-eye and Peach Oriental Plate
A visually stunning plate from Franklin Porcelain, depicting a pair of White-eyes enjoying a blooming Peach tree. This plate was created in 1979 by the artist Naoka Nobata and is part of her "Birds and Flowers of the Orient" collection. It is a little larger than most plates, measuring 10.25" in diameter and is crafted of fine Japanese porcelain with a hand-decorated 24 karat border. The plate is also surprisingly decorated on the back with elements of the Peach tree and is signed by the artist with her personal hanko. You'll find the plate to be in excellent condition and accompanied by its original box and folder, which gives a little history on the tree, the bird, and landmarks in Japan. It also names the month, March, for which the plate was inspired. Be sure to see the other plates in series, all gorgeously painted with obvious elegance
