An elegant and eclectic Art Deco mantle clock with Cockatoos by the French company UCRA, known for their high quality and stylish designs. This clock is more stylish than most for it boasts metal Parrots on each side, both displayed with wings aloft and crests raised. They flank a clock face with roman numerals and hands done in brass and metal, and rest upon a marble base. It is a large and heavy piece measuring 19 inches in length, 2.5 inches in width, 10 inches in height and weighs over 11 pounds all by itself. It runs and runs well via a winding mechanism found on the front and comes with its original key. It kept rather good time, losing a minute a day (it ran for 2 days on one wind) and has an adjustment lever on the back to synchronize it exactly. It is in good condition with the exception of a small chip in the marble on the bottom right that the veining conceals unless you are looking for it. The Cockatoos retain much of their original coloring but do have some wear, which enhances rather than detracts. It is marked via a foil label on the back. A true treasure from the days of Deco that let's any time be 'Too time.
