Perched between a world shaped perpetual calendar and a pen holder, this French Art Deco metal Swallow has flown across the miles and years. His companion calendar is also made of metal (although a different sort) with knobs on each side to change the Month and Day, which are both in French (most months look about the same in English, the days abbreviations are different. There is a blank space provided should you not wish to specify the day of the week). The date is changed by flipping the globe over. The pen (or pencil) holder is made of metal and plastic, maybe bakelite, and swivels. All are perched atop variegated marble that has felt on the bottom to protect your furniture and the entire piece measures 7.5 inches long, 3.5 inches wide, and 6 inches tall to the top of the bird's head. It is in grand condition save for a small sliver of marble missing at the back corner (see pic) and is unmarked save for the calendar, which says Japan, although the piece is unquestionably French Deco. A superior set for office or home, giving new meaning to days flying by.
