1940's - 50's Dresser Jar Set
If you're subject to flights of fancy then have a look at these fancy flights, a trio of vintage metal and glass dresser jars, each with a flying bird on its lid. The birds are both shadowed and etched, with a twig nearby and an area for a monogram below. The rest of the lid is frosted (for lack of a better term) causing the bird and bough to stand out even more. The jars themselves have a twisted, ribbed design, and although they feature grooves at the top, the lids just fit, rather than screw on. The largest jar is 2 5/8" tall with a diameter of about 4.5", while the smaller jars are 2" tall, with a width of 3 1/8". All are in grand condition with no chips or cracks (or marks) but do exhibit a few shallow use scratches on the lids, as to be expected, and one small jar has a slight discoloration near the bird's beak, which makes it look as though he's carrying something (see pic, he may well be!) An elegant and useful set for bed or bath, you'll be delighted I'm sure!
