A vintage Hoopoe postcard from Europe featuring the bird among grasses on the front. Never heard of a Hoopoe? Well, it's generally known as a shy, solitary, Old World woodland bird and in addition to its beautiful plumage, the Hoopoe is also noted for its filthy, malodorous nest. (I won't go into detail for obvious reasons). But now you can enjoy the beauty of the Hoopoe (without the smell) by owning this 5.5 inch x 3.5 inch postcard. It is in good condition with just a bit of wear along the corners and edges and is postally unused but that stands to reason, as the author got so carried away extolling the virtues of the bird on the back (in a foreign language, that is) that he left very little space for writing! A very different card featuring a very different bird. Better get it now before it flys awaaaaaay! :-)
