Many years ago, great Grandpa would go out into the garden to occasionally spray for pests. This large old sprayer was his tool of choice to get the job done.
I found this over 20 years ago at a farm auction here in Illinois, and it's been displayed in my home ever since. The shape, size, all the ironware and especially that to-die-for early mustard paint screams "primitive" to me, and it has such a unique antique flair. I don't know that I've ever seen another one like it. In fact, I am having reservations about selling it...but time marches on and sometimes you have to pass things along to make room for more things.
This wonderful old sprayer measures 26.75" long, 6" wide and about 9" tall. The large wheel turns smoothly and with ease. All the ironware on the piece is secure. There is a long age crack along the narrowest part. There's also another crack on the large round part toward the back as well. The flat rusted metal sheet on top has a jagged hole in it, but only shows the character of this early utilitarian piece. Everything is good and secure. I'm sure there was a cloth bag attached at one point, but who knows how many years ago it was lost.
Overall, this old sprayer shows lots of wear, some surface rust, cracks and dust. But I honestly doubt you could find another one in any condition, let alone one with this amazing mustard paint. It sits level and displays beautifully. I could picture it on an old wooden mantel, on top of or inside a favorite cupboard, or anywhere in your country primitive home decor.
If you love the unique primitive pieces, don't pass this one up. I know I'll be sad to see this one go. My loss, your gain! You won't regret buying this one, promise!
NOTE: This piece is somewhat heavy and large, so expect fairly substantial shipping charges, especially if you live a long distance from Illinois. I will ship UPS Ground and will pack well so it survives the trip. Once I have your zip code I will quote you an estimated price for shipping. Then once you pay the total cost, I promise to refund any overage of shipping charges back into your Paypal account.
