I’ve owned this frame/photo for over 20 years and have never been able to find any information, other than it’s c.1900-20’s. The brass frame is 3 1/8” x 2.25”, with a folding brass wire easel back and quite a bit of wear (which I happen to like, but not everyone’s cup of tea). What intrigues me the most is the photo/lithograph (which is it?) of a young woman with a lace head covering and a beaded necklace at her throat. There are hand painted gilt accents on the head covering that makes it look like some sort of headdress, and gilt accents on the necklace, most notably a cross. Her clothing/head covering is not one I’m familiar with… it appears Russian or Eastern European to me. If anyone can shed some light I’d appreciate it very much!
The gilt brass frame is worn, the backing more so, but the glass and picture are in excellent, well-preserved condition. I have not removed the back for further inspection.
