***I must mention that the gilt metal is bright gold and shiny! For some reason I just couldn’t get my pictures to convey the color properly… my apologies.
An outstanding gilt perfume bottle dauber (NO bottle!) made by STYLEBUILT Accessories, NY, c. 1950’s. The company was founded in 1931 as Style Metal Specialties, primarily making belt and shoe buckles at first, then developing into a costume jewelry business. By the 1940’s Stylebuilt Accessories had included cosmetic and giftware to its ever-expanding line, all produced with the utmost attention to quality and beauty of design. Many items were plated with 24 karat gold and were supposed to be guaranteed not to tarnish.
This perfume bottle dauber is 5 3/8" long X 2 3/8" at the widest part, in gold plated filigree with roses and leaves on both sides. The original 2.25" long glass dauber is attached. If you have a Stylebuilt perfume bottle, with no dauber and requiring this size, then here’s your chance to complete it!
In excellent condition with no issues - it doesn’t appear to have been ever used; and as previously mentioned, the gilt is bright and shiny.
