Although this award was presented in 1951 I believe the piece was struck earlier - around 1939 going by the Birmingham hallmarks. It is from an exhibition THE CONFECTIONERS BAKERS AND ALLIED TRADERS EXHIBITION - LONDON. It is stunning, oval, 2 ins x 1 15/8 ins and about 3/16 thick so it is heavier. The detail is beautiful; lady with sheaf of wheat and a scythe. I try to find awards, especially large ones like these. Presented to W. Watkinson, Huddersfield in 1951. They just don't make awards like this today.
