This is a nicely engraved Scottish Victorian Silver brooch, a good size 1 1/2 inches across. The center stone is called a Cairngorm, similar to a citrine or topaz from the Cairngorm mountain range in the north of Scotland. It is nicely faceted and held in place by fancy silver prongs which are all present. Not marked silver as this was not mandatory at the time. I have not fully polished the silver as I like to leave these old pieces in their original condition. The green with flecks of red is bloodstone, popular with Victorians as it was thought to purify the blood. The red is jasper. Has a "C" clasp and a longer pin as in Victorian jewelry.
PLEASE NOTE: boxes, stands, and any additional props used for enhancing my listings, are NOT included. If any of these are included, it will be clearly marked. If you are in any doubt, please ask!
