This is called a biscuit barrel in the UK. It has wonderful handpainted desert scenes on it with cobalt blue rims. The handle and lid are E.P.N.S. Electro Plated Nickel Silver and so are dull and yellow hue with age - this is normal in a piece this old. I do not see any cracks or chips in the porcelain and it is clearly marked on the bottom. I think perhaps 1920s/1930s. Stands, without handle, 7 inches and is 7 inches at widest part. Very slight wear on the gold, amazing after all this time.
