This is a very unusual and rare antique Victorian velvet choker necklace and matching bracelet, embellished with seed beads, metal leaves, and small shell flowers. The choker is a V shape and the black velvet is edged with gold trim and backed with black silk. The velvet ties are frayed on the ends. The bracelet is velvet over a metal form. It is backed with black grossgrain and it has in addition to the beads and shell flowers, some gilt metal scroll decorations. There are also a couple of pink plastic flowers that look like replacements or later additions.
The choker measures 10 inches with and additional 6 1/2 inches of tie on each side. It is about 3/4 inch wide. The bracelet has an interior measurement of 5 inches and the opening is about 1 inch. It is about 1 inch wide at the widest spot. It is in very good condition given its fragility and age, with the losses noted above.
