This is a wonderful vintage Canadian souvenir pin in Sterling silver and guilloche enamel by the Caron Brothers of Montreal. This lovely large pin, which is big enough to be a sash pin is heart shaped and has a shield in the center with an image of ships on the ocean. I don't know what precisely this is commemorating but the design is very attractive. The brooch is heavy silver and fastens with a C catch. The Caron Brothers were established in Montreal in 1900 and went out of business in 1930. This pin has an early mark from this company as well as being marked with the word Sterling. The pin measures 2 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches and it is in lovely condition. There is one very tiny flake to the transparent enamel on one edge. No other issues.
