This is a lovely vintage sterling and guilloche enamel sash pin that was made as a souvenir of North Carolina. It is marked CMR for Charles M Robbins. This company was established in 1893 in Attleboro, MA and was known for their fine enamel work. The brooch is oval with the North Carolina shield in the center enameled in turquoise. The border is deep red with a fleur de lis design and it is marked Sterling top underneath the maker's mark. It is also engraved with the initials CO.
It measures 2 1/4 inches by about 1 1/2 inches. It is in good condition with one flake in the clear surface of the enamel as can be seen in the photo. This is not very evident in person.
