This is a beautiful antique Victorian brooch made of sixteen round cabochons of salmon coral. It is mounted in silver but I don't know the sliver content of the metal. It fastens with a C catch and the pin stem is on a T hinge. It dates to around the 1860s and it is most likely Italian in origin.
It measures about 1 inch in diameter and it is in very good condition. One of the cabochons has a small flaw which I'm pretty sure is original to the piece and is not very evident when worn.
