This is an utterly charming antique 5 piece Edwardian silver plate tea service. The set consists of the tray, teapot, covered sugar, creamer and waste bowl (or open sugar). It is has the mark of Dowd Rogers of Wallingford, Connecticut, which was in business from 1915 to 1937. The style of this set places it in the early part of this date range. It is also marked Sheffield Plate. The pattern is exceptionally lovely. Typical of the Edwardian and early Art Deco era, it features a chased design of flowers with vertical lines and an open cartouche in the center. It has not been monogrammed.
The set is in excellent condition with some light surface scratching, primarily on the tray. There is no plate loss. The back of the tray is etched with the name Blair.
