This is a stunning vintage dresser box with gilt brass ormolu and a green glass lid with a wheel engraved cut to clear design. It dates to around the 1920s and is marked MW co, and Empire Ware. This is the mark of the M.W. Carr & Co out of Boston/West Somerville, Massachusetts which was in business from 1868-1995. They made "Fancy Metal Goods, Jewelry and Novelties". They had several different lines including Galleon Silver, Empire Ware and Holland Ware. This is very similar to, and was undoubtedly made to compete with the Czech glass goods of the same era.
It measures 6 inches by 3 inches and it is about 2 inches tall. It is in excellent condition with no damage to the glass and minimal wear to the gilt brass.
