Spectacular Huge Mexico Art Deco Rose Gold Vermeil Silver Horse / Stallion Brooch with Green Glass Cabochons, 21.89 Grams, ca 1940!!
This stunning Silver Stallion has a Rose Gold Vermeil gold wash and green glass cabochons in the mane!! The shape of the horse is identical to a Casa Prieto horse brooch and is likely an unsigned piece by the artist. The only difference is this horse has green glass cabochons for the mane and the Rose Gold vermeil.
The craftsmanship is stunning and the design of the horse itself is so beautiful. The green glass cabochons are stunning, all are intact with minor crazing. The clasp is in perfect working condition and the extended stem is intact. The rose gold vermeil has started to rub off in certain spots and there are some scratches, mostly surface but I did notice a couple that may be a little deeper. I purchased this brooch many years ago in Warrenton, Texas at their semi-annual antique show. The combination of the rose gold and green cabochons is stunning, this is a very special unique piece of jewelry. Have not seen another like it.
