Gorgeous Ca 1910 Antique Victorian / Art Nouveau Crystal Acorn and Etched Crystal Blocks with a 9K and 800 Silver Enameled Panel Necklace!!
This gorgeous Victorian / Art Nouveau necklace has so many fabulous delicate details that definitely combine the two eras! Lets start with the enameled panels set in 800 Silver; each slender panel has a creamy enameling on both sides with an embossed double "X" detail. When the 800 silver chain meets the etched square crystal block, the chain is linked to a 9K finding that goes through the crystal and attaches to the 800 silver chain on the other side, there are 5 etched crystal blocks with the 9K finding. The crystal Acorn also has a 9K finding that is connected to the chain as well as the spring ring clasp with a ridge not a nub. The 5 crystal blocks are beautifully etched with a very Art Nouveau design, each block is a 1/4" squared. The faceted crystal Acorn is two separate pieces connected by the 9K finding. The body of the Acorn is a clear faceted crystal that is capped with a frosted etched acorn cap that moves or spins independently around the actual body of the Acorn. There are 3 chips at the top of the cap, which is unfortunate, but considering this necklace is over 100 years old, it is a miracle that this necklace is still intact. There is some wear to the enameling as well but this is completely age appropriate.
This is a stunning and delicate necklace that is an incredible piece of history from the Victorian and Art Nouveau Eras. I have not polished the chain, I will leave that up to the buyer.
