Stunning vintage Art Deco era transitioning to the retro 40's look diamond ring by the Zales company. This vintage ring was crafted by Zales in their early days of selling jewelry. Ca 1935-1940. This lovely piece of history is comprised of 7 white diamonds with the center diamond a tiffany brilliant cut round and the remaining 6 being single cuts. The center diamond has an approximate weight of .15 carats bringing and the single cuts have an approximate weight of .12 carats bringing the TCW of the diamonds to .27 or approximately just over 1/4 of a carat. The shank is 14K yellow gold and the top setting is 14K white gold. The milgrain work to the sweeping retro ribbons is superb as is the cutwork. The setting is extremely well made with a nice weight bringing this ring to 4.4 grams. Measures a 7 1/4 on my ring sizer. Our jeweler who is GIA graduate gemologist estimates the color at G-H which is nearly colorless and VS2-SI for clarity which makes for a very nice, white sparkling ring! Marked with their early mark of JTC123 and 14K. It is just fabulous on the hand with the flowing lines and sparkling diamonds. My pictures don't come close to showing how divine this ring looks in person! Could be worn as engagement ring or as a right hand ring. What a great find!!!!!
Face up the setting measures 12mm east to west and 22mm north to south and very impressive on the hand. Shank is sturdy with no thinning and one small ding on the edge of the shank near the hallmark. In excellent condition with no other issues to note. All weights and measures are approximate due to non removal of the stones. The ring has been professionally cleaned and is ready to wear!
Zales began in 1924 and has a very interesting history.
