Primitive Punched Tin Foot Warmer Insert.
This handsome tin box has a hinged door and a heart and circle pierced design on all 4 sides. The top and 4 sides have punched holes and the bottom does not. The door handle is constructed of wire, and this piece would have originally had a wood frame with a carry handle.
It is unmarked and it measures about 7 ¼” by 6 ¼” on top and 4 ¾” tall.
Condition: some surface rust but it is not rusted through; a few minor dents and dings but it maintains its shape; the door has pulled away from the top hinge; missing the wooden frame/holder.
What a wonderful antique, decorative item! It would be great accenting a country kitchen, and it would look terrific on a rustic hearth. It could house candles on a patio or perhaps it could be used to store small items. Don’t miss this one!
