Vintage Sterling Silver Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity Bracelet by Forstner.
This bracelet has the crest of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity on the front of a slender band, attached to a nice bracelet chain with a spring ring closure. It was a love token shared between a Fraternity brother and his sweetheart and is engraved “Bets Love Russ”, with the ‘v’ in love artfully curled into a heart.
The Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity was founded in Virginia in 1901 and is one of the United States’ largest social fraternities.
It is signed “Forstner; Sterling”. Forstner was in operation from about 1920 to 1980. It measures about 6 3/4” long and weighs 6.8g.
Condition: nice patina with minor use; we have polished it some, but left some age patina behind for those who prefer it; clasp works well.
What a lovely bracelet! It is delicate and pretty enough to wear in its own right, but for a family with Sigma Phi Epsilon connections, it would be a meaningful gift. Perhaps Dad would like to give his daughter or wife a vintage fraternity piece, or maybe a young fraternity member would like to offer a unique vintage gift to his sweetheart – one that none of her friends will have! It is sure to be a favorite!
