Sterling 3 Stone Amethyst Citrine Peridot Rainbow Ring.
This ring has a unique bezel setting for the 3 large, emerald cut semi-precious stones. The center stone is an amethyst and it is a bit larger than the green peridot and yellow citrine stones on either side. The side stones are recessed back a bit, allowing the amethyst a more prominent position.
The low profile setting has an open back design, allowing light to filter in and add dazzle to the beautiful stones. The band is hefty and has a modernist look that is easy and comfortable to wear. It is currently a size 6 and your jeweler can resize it.
The amethyst measures 5mm by 8mm and about 2mm deep, giving it an approximate carat weight of 1/2 carat. The citrine and peridot each measure about 3mm by 7mm and 2mm deep, so each would be approximately 1/3 carat +/-. Please note, these measurements and calculations are estimates because the stones were not removed from the setting for exact measuring.
It is marked “925” plus an illegible mark as shown. We date it circa 1980 and the front (with all 3 stones) measures about 1/4” tall and about 5/8” wide. The back of the shank is 1/8” wide. It weighs 8.3 grams.
Condition: nice patina on the front with some use scratches; we have done some clean up but left some patina for those who prefer it.
We wish our pictures could do justice to the color of these lovely stones! It is a distinctive ring with the rainbow of colors and it would easily be a favorite gift.
