Mid Century 835 Silver Dutch Delft Men’s Tie Bar Clip by G.J. van den Bergh Jr.
This desirable Modernist tie bar has mid-century lines with an elongated, flat bar that narrows at each tip and widens slightly in the center. It features a round dome of porcelain delft in the center, decorated with a classic windmill design and mounted in a ornamental rope trim bezel.
It is marked “GB5” and “835” on the blade of a sword, indicating it dates from 1953 to 1981 and was produced by G.J. van den Bergh Jr., of Holland. It measures about 3” long and the Delft center medallion measures about ¾” across, including the setting.
Excellent Condition: no damage; still a tight clip that will hold well; the delft has some crazing.
This is a fabulous tie clip that has a bright appeal. It would work well as a scarf clip as well as a tie bar.
