This pin/pendant is amazing! Dated to 1950 and made of a beautiful agate stone ranging from nearly black to navy blue, grey, white, and tan, this pendant is genuine signed Rebajes! Francisco Rebajes was a jeweler and sculptor who moved from the Dominican Republic to Greenwich Village, New York when he was 16. He began working on sculptures while living in his friend's basement, and gained prominence when all of his pieces at a show were bought by the director of the Whitney museum. Rebajes' craftsmanship of both sculpture and jewelry are perfectly exhibited in this pin pendant - as the sterling silver setting displays an abstract man clinging to the agate. This work of art would make the perfect addition to your collection! The back is stamped with Rebajes' signature and STERLING, and this pendant measures approximately 3 1/4 inches long and 1 9/16 inches wide. The chain pictured is for photographic purposes only and is not included.
