This antique buckle is a fine example of Czarist period Russian artistry. Featuring a typical Russian motif in niello over silver, it is subtle yet elegant. Buckle is marked 84*, one of the two Russian standards in silver; meaning it is 87% pure. Signed 'ИС', by the workmaster. The buckle measures 3" x 1.5". No loss to enamel. The ultra fine workmanship makes for an extremely interesting and attractive piece which can be appreciated both through the loupe, and across the room.
