A Victorian brooch. Made of 15ct gold. Lozenge shaped, the centre set with a round cluster of 9 brilliant cut diamonds flanked by decorated gold work consisting of twisted wire, granular and filigree work. The reverse containing a small glazed compartment. Hallmarked 15ct gold Birmingham 1897-8. Measurements, length ( just over ) 2" ( 5.2 cm ), width ( just under ) 1" ( just under 2.5 cm ), depth ( just under ) 1/4" ( just over 5 mm ). Condition, Very Good. A good quality 1890s brooch. In a contemporary velvet and silk lined case ( some wear to the case consistent with age ).
