A Victorian locket. Made of gilded sterling silver. The obverse decorated with an attached floral swag and flowers. The reverse plain. The interior containing two compartments for photographs. Plain suspension loop. Hallmarked Birmingham 1880-81. Measurements, height just under 2" ( 1 15/16" ), just under 5cm. Width, just under 1 5/8" ( 4 cm ). Depth 5/16" ( 7.5 mm ). Height including suspension loop 2 5/8" ( 6.7 cm ). Condition, Very Good. Some wear to the gilding, most notably to the reverse and some minor surface wear ( all consistent with age ). The original glass has been replaced by Perspex. An unusual locket, the majority of 1880s lockets are ungilded.
